Gudauskas, a tackle on the Murray State football team from 1937-39 and earned Little All-America honors in 1938. He was also named to the All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association Team the same year, and to the All-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team in 1937, 1938, and 1939.
Pete was a tackle and also kicked. He scored points in his three varsity season with the Racers. Murray compiled an 18-7-3 record during his three years of play.
Gudauskas played for the Chicago Bears from 1943 through 1945. He was part of the Bears 1943 National Football League championship team. He made 64-of-66 career point after attempts. His field goal in 1944 gave the Bears a win against the college All-Stars. He began his pro career in 1940 with the Cleveland Rams.Â
Pete was a regular at MSU football games and hardly ever missed a homecoming. He died Oct. 27, 2003 at the age of 87.
