Racers Fall At Tech In OVC Action

With the Racers (4-10-3, 1-5-0 OVC) trailing 1-0 in the first half, Robertson, a junior forward from Lexington, Ky., scored on a perfect crossing pass from senior forward Emily Schaller to even things up in the 18th minute of action.
The Golden Eagles (9-8-0, 3-3-0 OVC) regained the lead for good moments later as Barbara Tomaszek scored on a pass from Jocelyn Daniel to give Tech a 2-1 lead in the 22nd minute.
MSU outshot the Golden Eagles 24-19 for the game, including a 16-8 advantage in the second half and the Racers had a 13-8 advantage in shots on goal, but they could not take advantage of the opportunities.
Tech goalkeeper Carly King stopped 12 of the Racers 13 shots on goal while playing all 90 minutes. Senior Karen Fitzharris and freshman Annie Fortier split time in goal for MSU.
Up next, the Racers stay on the road for another OVC matchup with Austin Peay on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in Clarksville, Tenn.
