The grade-point average for the 2002-03 Lady Racers team ranked 19th among all NCAA Division I women's basketball programs.
The Lady Racers had a team GPA of 3.28 on a 4.0-scale, led by Ohio Valley Conference Medal of Honor winner Rebecca Remington, who had a perfect GPA of 4.00.
"This is a reflection of the hard work of our student-athletes and the dedication to academic success from this team, the coaches, the athletics administration and the university administration," said Murray State assistant coach Rob Cross.
"This is indicative of the commitment of our coaching staff, athletics director and athletics department to providing the student-athletes with the goal of academic excellence and the means of achieving that goal."
The women's basketball program was one of seven MSU athletics programs to sport a team GPA of 3.00 or better.
