Thomas Scores Two Goals As Racers Shutout Western Illinois 4-0

Thomas (St. Louis, Mo.) opened the scoring in the 18th minute from five yards away, while junior forward Theresa Reedy earned the first of two assists on the day.
MSU (2-0) held a 1-0 lead at halftime of the rain-soaked affair and added to its margin as senior forward Michelle Fedor lofted her first goal of the season into the net from 25 yards out in the 47th minute.
Reedy scored her first goal of the year in the 53rd minute for a 3-0 MSU lead, while Thomas added her second goal of the day in the 83rd minute on another assist from Reedy to close the scoring.
Fortier, from Bowling Green, Ky., turned away all five WIU (0-2) shots on goal while playing all 90 minutes.
The Racers will look to stay unbeaten in 2003 as they return home to host IUPUI on Friday at 4 p.m. at Cutchin Field in Murray, Ky.
