Racers Fall 4-1 At Western Kentucky For First Loss Of 2003

The Hilltoppers (2-2) scored the four goals of the game, three in the first 35 minutes, to take command of the game from the Racers (3-1).
Freshman forward Lacey Latimer (Murray, Ky.) had the lone goal for MSU, her second goal of the year, in the 86th minute on an assist from senior forward Emily Schaller (St. Louis, Mo.).
MSU senior goalkeeper Karen Fitzharris was held out of action. Junior Lauren Bazzell started the game in goal for her first action of the year, while freshman Annie Fortier played the second half for the Racers.
Up next for MSU is two games this weekend at the Skyhawk Invitational in Martin, Tenn. The Racers open the tournament on Friday at 2:30 p.m. against Arkansas-Little Rock and close out the tournament on Sunday at Noon against Southeastern Louisiana.
