Racers compete at OVC Championships

The Murray State women's cross country team placed 10th at the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships, held today at Martin, Tenn.
The men's team did not score because it did not field enough runners.
Lindsey Neeley led MSU's women's team, finishing 30th over the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) course in a time of 20 minutes, 39.26 seconds. Megan Rainville finished 42nd with a time of 21:22.99, while Lauren Wilson was 50th at 22:25.07. Trista Curtis was 60th at 23:34.2, while Chantal Curtis was 70th at 27:31.18 and Chanel Morgan was 71st at 31:56.72.
Samford won the women's title with 15 points, claiming the top five runners. Eastern Kentucky was second with 57 points, followed by Southeast Missouri State at 99, Eastern Illinois at 120, Morehead State at 129, Tennessee Tech at 189, Jacksonville State at 212, Tennessee State at 226, host Tennessee-Martin at 234, Murray State at 241 and Austin Peay at 255.
On the men's side, Jon Corey finished the 8-kilometer (5-mile) course in 48th place with a time of 30:40.3, while Nathan Clinkenbeard was 67th at 33:31.26.
Eastern Kentucky won the men's title with 42 points, followed by Eastern Illinois in second with 88 points and Samford third with 93 points. Morehead State was fourth with 117 points, followed by Jacksonville State at 128, Southeast Missouri State at 144, Tennessee Tech at 209, Austin Peay at 243, host Tennessee-Martin at 251 and Tennessee State at 299.
