Reedy scores two more as Racers take OVC opener

The game was a scoreless tie at halftime, but Reedy put the Racers (3-3-0, 1-0-0 OVC) on the scoreboard with a penalty kick just 6 minutes and 30 seconds into the second half. That goal gave her a personal single-season-best nine goals.
With 7:03 remaining in regulation, Reedy struck again, stealing the ball, dribbling towards the goal and popping it into the net from 25 yards out. Her 10 goals this season is second on the Murray State single-season goals list to Jackie Thomas, who scored 13 goals in 2000.
Morehead State (5-3-1, 0-1-0 OVC) pulled its goalkeeper out of the net for the last 5:15, and shortly after doing so, avoided a shutout as Trista Stark took a throw-in from Rachel Kendall and booted it into the goal with 5:06 left in regulation. for the final score of the game.
The Eagles outshot Murray State 21-6 and had nine shots on goal to the Racers' five. The loss was the first at home in four games this season for Morehead State, and the Racers stopped a five-game unbeaten streak for the Eagles.
Murray State goalkeeper Annie Fortier (3-3-0, 1-0-0 OVC) got the win, turning away eight saves in the game. Eagle goalie Stefani Workman (5-3-1, 0-1-0 OVC) turned away three saves in the loss.
Reedy led the Racers with three shots and two on goal. Rebekah Kendall had a game-high eight shots, with three players having a co-game-high two shots on goal.
Murray State returns home to face OVC rival Samford on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Racers' Cutchin Field.
