Lady Racers win UTM Invitational

The Murray State women's cross country team had four of the top five finishers to help it win the UTM Invitational on Saturday. The Lady Racers finished with 21 points, while host Tennessee-martin had 35 and Bethel (Tenn.) had 66.
Leading the 16-runner race was Alaina Zanin, who finished the course in 12 minutes, 19 seconds, a full 32 seconds ahead of second place.
Kristen Heckert was third at 12:59, just eight seconds behind second place, while Megan Rainville was fourth at 13:18, and Lauren Wilson was fifth at 13:30. Lindsey Neeley closed out the scoring for Murray State, finishing eighth at 13:56.
Murray State will next compete on Oct. 15 at the Evansville Invitational.
