Zanin places third at SEMO

Freshman Alaina Zanin placed third at the 16-runner SEMO Inviational this afternoon in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Murray State fielded four runners, not enough to qualify for a team score.
Zanin finished the 3.2-mile (5.1-kilometer) course in 19 minutes, 29 seconds.
Kristen Heckert placed sixth with a time of 19:57, while Megan Rainville was ninth at 20:43 and Lindsey Neeley was 12th at 21:27.
Murray State will next compete at the O'Reilly's Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Saturday in Charleston, Ill. Eastern Illinois University is the host team.
