Zanin to represent Murray State at NCAA Regional on Nov. 12

Zanin placed among the top 30 percent in all seven of her races this season, including winning the UTM Invitational in Martin, Tenn., on Oct. 1 and taking third in the SEMO Invitational on Oct. 22.
The freshman journalism and political science major is excited to take part in the regional, just a few months removed from high school.
"I just want to do well for my team and for Murray State University," she said. "I'm excited that Coach (Dereck) Chavis has given me the opportunity to compete against the tough schools from the Southeastern Conference and other really tough teams.
"When I was in high school, in our fall races, we ran against some really good competition, but I feel like this competition is at a whole other level. I'm looking forward to this challenge, and I'm excited to see what I can do."
Zanin is a native of Kenosha, Wis.
