Lady Racers visit Tennessee State in hopes of getting back on track

The Murray State Lady Racers, coming off a 75-70 loss to Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday, will look to get back in the win column in the conference when they travel to Tennessee State to face the Lady Tigers on Thursday. Tipoff time is set for 5:30 p.m.
These two teams have already played each other once this season, with the Lady Racers coming away with an 82-73 win. Rebecca Remington had 28 points, 11 rebounds and five assists in that Jan. 22 game, and Shaleea Petty scored 15 points and handed out five assists for the Lady Racers.
For the Lady Tigers, Kendra Bailey led the way with 24 points and 16 rebounds, while Quanecia Fletcher had 20 points. Leslie Dean scored 12 points, and LaKisha Clay had 10 points and five assists in a losing effort.
The Lady Racers (9-15, 5-8 OVC) were led by Remington and Gerraca Matthews in the Tennessee-Martin game, each scoring 11 points in the loss. Katie Willinger also came off the bench to score 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting in only 14 minutes.
The Lady Tigers (7-16, 4-8 OVC) are coming off a 74-54 loss to Southeast Missouri on Feb. 12. Fletcher had 16 points and Bailey had 14 points for the Lady Tigers, who were down by only three points at halftime, 34-31.
For the Lady Racers, Remington leads the team in scoring and rebounding, scoring 15.0 points and pulling down 5.6 rebounds a game. Ashley Hayes scores 10.8 points a game for the Lady Racers, while Shaleea Petty averages 9.5 points and 4.4 assists a game.
The Lady Tigers are led by Bailey, who averages 11.7 points and 8.8 rebounds a game, both team-highs. Dean averages 10.7 points per game, and Clay averages 9.8 points and 4.2 assists per game.
