Racers finish 10th at Spring Classic

The Murray State men's track team placed 10th at the SIU Spring Classic, held Saturday in Carbondale, Ill.

David Claybrooks scored for Murray State, placing eighth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.79 seconds.

Other results for Murray State's men's team included:

John Skinner, high jump, ninth (tie), 5 feet, 10.75 inches (1.80 meters).

Chris Champion, shot put, 12th, 42 feet, 5.5 inches (12.94 meters); discus throw, 13th, 125-7 (38.28m).

Matt Ernsting, 400-meter dash, 14th, 58.18 seconds; 200-meter dash, 25.06 seconds.

John Gorey, 5000-meter run, 14th, 16 minutes, 15.05 seconds.

DeWayne Esson, 400-meter dash, 15th, 1 minute, 0.16 seconds.

David Claybrooks, 200-meter dash, 17th, 23.65 seconds.

Murray State will next compete at the SEMO meet on Saturday.
