Three Racers to Compete at NCAA Regional in Lexington

Three members of the Murray State women's track & field team will represent Murray State at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field East First Round in Lexington, Kentucky, on Thursday and Friday.

Sophomore Serena Blackwood will lead things off for Murray State as she competes in the 100 meters at 7:00 p.m. CT on Thursday. The Cambridge, England native won the event at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships after posting the third-best time in MSU history at 11.27 seconds.

After becoming the first Racer in MVC history to win the 800 meters, Cheyenne Melvin will compete at 7:50 p.m. CT. The Saint Louis native put up a personal best time at the MVC Championships at 2:09.92.

Senior Brooke Probst will compete on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. CT in the high jump after finishing third at the MVC Championships with a pair of personal bests, including a mark of 1.76 meters that puts her fourth in MSU history.
