Racer Soccer Takes Overtime Thriller From TTU

The Murray State Women's Soccer team scored their second straight match win Sunday when Rebekah Clay made a remarkable goal with
The golden goal came when Racer defender Sara Struve directed a corner kick in front of the Tech goal. The ball bounced off a TTU defender and then a MSU player. Clay had her back to the goal when the ball bounced shoulder high. She back kicked the ball into the goal for the MSU win.

The Racers scored first in the 40th minute when Clay lofted a shot at the charging TTU goal keeper for a 1-0 lead. Jen Nowak assisted on the goal.
The game stayed that way until Tech's Hannah Bromley blasted a shot from about 30 yard out which was headed in by Jennifer Hoffman in the 87th minute.
The teams played through the first overtime and into the second extra period before Clay ended it with her eighth goal of the season.
The Racers kept the pressure on most of the day by leading the shots category 21-9 and had 12 shots on goal for day while holding TTU to seven.
