Racer Cross Country Places 4th At Evansville

The Murray State Women's Cross Country squad posted a fourth place finish Saturday at the Evansville Invitational. Leading the way for the MSU squad was Kristen Heckert who set a PR on the 5K course with a time of 18:07. She was 58 seconds faster than her previous best for this distance in Louisville two weeks ago. Taylor Crawford was 14th (18:59.82) and Alaina Zanin was 18th (19:14.11). Rounding out the MSU finishes were Kristen Miller in 29th place (19:45.45) and Lindsey Neeley in 32nd place (19:47.10). There were 11 teams in the field at Evansville. MSU was a total of 3:05 off the winning pace set by Belmont. Creighton finished second and Southeast Missouri State third.
The Racers now prepare for the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships Oct. 28 in Clarksville, Tenn.
