Racer Soccer Says Goodbye to Six Seniors

On senior day at Cutchin Field, the Murray State Soccer team said goodbye to six student-athletes and then played the highest ranked team they had ever faced in ninth ranked
MSU played a very tough opponent and battled through the first 15 minutes when OSU kept the pressure on and played most if it in the Racers defensive end.
Sasa Jackson gathered a corner kick
The Racers started to play on the OSU side of the field more in the later portion of the first half, but the Cowgirls took a 2-0 lead with 2:37 left in the half when Niccole Grimaldi hit a perfect corner kick the bent into the MSU goal. MSU keeper Heather Jones played the first half and made four saves.
The Racers managed six shots on goal for the match, two of which were on target by Rebekah Clay and Melisa Curry.
The match was also the final game in a MSU uniform for seniors Heather Jones, Annie Fortier, Laura Oppegard, Tara Eby, Lauren Blessinger and Leslie Whitehead. The MSU Seniors were honored before the match along with their families.
