BEFORE MSU: Played her freshman season at Miami (Ohio)...helped the RedHawks to the Mid-American Conference championship...helped MU beat Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA Championship...played four seasons at Valley View High...in 2001, her senior season, named all-state third team, all-district first team and all-league first team, as team captain...in 2000, earned all-state third team honors, as well as all-district first team and all-league first team...helped VVHS to the league title as team captain...in 1999, earned all-district second team and all-league first team honors...in 1998, her freshman year, named league Newcomer of the Year and all-district second team...was also captain of the track team in 2001.
PERSONAL: Born Tara Nicole Eby on Jan. 17, 1984, the daughter of Dana Eby and Claudia Eby...was a scholar-athlete in all four years of high school...majoring in exercise science.
