Petrie Named OVC Freshman Of The Week

Lady Racer guard/forward Jenny Petrie was named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week, garnering 10 of the 11 votes among the league's women's basketball sports information contacts.

Petrie scored 15 points and had eight rebounds to go with a co-game-high four steals in her collegiate debut against Kentucky State on Friday. For the week, she averaged 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game, shooting .500 (9-for-18) from the field.

Petrie started in both of Murray State's wins this week, an 80-46 win over Kentucky State and a 73-55 win over Brescia on Sunday.

Murray State hits the road this week, visiting regional rival Southern Illinois on Friday. Tipoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
