Lady Racers Rank Among OVC's Best

The Murray State Lady Racers rank among the best in the Ohio Valley Conference in almost every team category, and have several players listed among the league's top individuals.
Murray State (5-3, 2-0 OVC) leads the conference in scoring margin (+10.4 points per game), three-point field-goal percentage (.406) and three-point field-goal percentage defense (.265). MSU is second in scoring defense (62.6 points per game), field-goal percentage (.456) and three-pointers per game (6.50), and third in scoring (73.0 points per game), field-goal percentage defense (.395), blocked shots (3.38 per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (0.79).
The Lady Racers are fourth in the OVC in free-throw percentage (.746), rebounding margin (-1.2 per game), steals (9.63) and turnover margin (+1.88), and fifth in rebounding defense (37.6 per game), assists (13.00 per game) and offensive rebounds (12.63 per game).
Individually, senior Joi Scott ranks among the top five in the conference in six categories: scoring (3rd, 17.3 points per game), rebounding (3rd, 8.5 per game), blocked shots (3rd, 1.50 per game), field-goal percentage (.5th, .514), offensive rebounds (5th, 3.00 per game) and defensive rebounds (5.50 per game). Sophomore Amber Guffey is listed in seven categories, including free-throw percentage (4th, .857), three-point field goals (4th, 2.13 per game), assist-to-turnover ratio (4th, 1.22), assists (5th (tie), 3.50 per game), three-point field-goal percentage (.447), scoring (7th, 14.1 points per game) and field-goal percentage (9th, .493).
Sophomore Paige Guffey leads the OVC with a three-point field-goal percentage of .526 and is seventh with 1.67 three-pointers per game. Sophomore Ashley Nichole Hayes is tied for 13th in scoring (12.6 points per game), and is sixth in defensive rebounds (5.00 per game), and ninth in rebounding (6.9 per game). Freshman Jenny Petrie is third in the league in three-point field-goal percentage (.455) and tied for eighth in steals (1.88 per game), while junior Shaleea Petty is tied for eighth in steals (1.88 per game) and tied for 10th in blocked shots (0.75 per game).
The Lady Racers also place highly among the national ranks as well. Murray State is among the top 100 teams in NCAA Division I in eight categories, including three-point field-goal percentage 913th), three-point field goals per game (30th), free-throw percentage (36th), field-goal percentage (38th), scoring (50th), scoring margin (61st), fewest turnovers (64th) and win-loss percentage (100th).
Individually, Amber Guffey ranks 37th nationally in three-point field-goal percentage, 67th in free-throw percentage and 94th in three-pointers per game. Scott is 67th in scoring, 83rd in field-goal percentage, 98th in rebounding and 100th in blocked shots.
