Scott earns Newcomer of the Week, Hayes gets OVC Freshman honor

Scott's six Newcomer of the Week honors equals those earned by Morehead State's LaKrisha Brown, who earned two of her six awards before Scott became eligibile to play. Over the last 10 weeks, Scott did not earn the honor four times; Brown won three of those, and SEMO's Lachelle Lyles got one.
Hayes' third OVC Freshman of the Week honor was the first since Dec. 12, when she had won her second straight freshman honor. Her three Freshman of the Week awards equals the most won by a player this season; Eastern Illinois's Megan Edwards won the award three weeks in a row from Jan. 2-16.
Murray State visits Southeast Missouri State tomorrow (Tuesday) in the quarterfinal round of the O'Reilly OVC Championship Tournament. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and will be aired locally on WNBS (1340 AM) as well as through the Teamline link at www.GoRacers.com.
