The Murray State Women's Soccer team kept the heat on
That's the best we've played this season,” MSU Head Coach Beth Acreman said. “It was enjoyable to watch, that's the first of what I would class as Murray State Soccer.”
The Racers put everything together in this match, with excellent defense, goal keeping and an attacking offense.
In a scoreless game with less than four minutes before half, the Racers proved they can be an explosive offense. At the 41:18 mark, Kayla Jones set up a goal by Krista Llewellyn for a 1-0 MSU lead. Only 3:17 later at the 44:01 mark, Llewellyn scored again off an assist from Rebekah Clay for a 2-0 MSU lead at the half.
The Racers continued to control possession of the ball in the second half and took a 3-0 lead at 75:24 when Kara Carlile found the net off a feed from Clay, it was 3-0 MSU.
It was 5-0 MSU when Clay scored twice on assists from Liz Bennett at 84:18 and 85:39.
The Racers out shot Lipscomb for the match 26-3 and evened their 2006 record at 3-3-1, while Lipscomb fell to 1-8.
MSU's undefeated streak is four after wins over

The back to back shutouts for the Racers are their first since beating
The Racers have played three hours, twenty-two minutes and 25-seconds without giving up a goal.
“They're starting to figure it out,” Acreman added. “They understand the style play I'm looking for.”
MSU spent most of the day dictating tempo.
“The possessions were in our favor,” Acreman said. “We eliminated unforced errors and it was an excellent total team effort today, the kind of effort we're going to need going into OVC play.”
With Ohio Valley Conference matches coming next weekend, the Racers have one more non-league match to play. Wednesday, the Evansville Aces come to Murray, a team the Racers have never defeated in three previous tries. The match begins at 3 p.m. at Cutchin Field.
