The Racers scored first in the match when Evansville was called for a foul giving Sara Struve a direct kick from the left side of the field about 25 yards from the goal. Struve's kick came down near Rebekah Clay who was able to lift her leg and deflect the ball into the net for a 1-0 MSU lead
