The Lady Racers step out of conference for the last time in this regular-season schedule in a battle of conference leaders, as Murray State visits Alabama A&M. Tipoff is Monday at 6 p.m., and can be heard locally on WNBS (1340 AM, Murray) or worldwide through the audio link at www.GoRacers.com.
Murray State (10-4, 7-1 OVC) just moved into sole possession of first place in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 64-63 win at Austin Peay on Thursday, then maintain that when the Lady Govs beat Southeast Missouri in Clarksville on Saturday. The Lady Racers face the leader of the Southwestern Athletics Conference, Alabama A&M (9-6, 5-0 SWAC), which has won its last five games, all conference tilts.
"Alabama A&M is playing very well right now," said MSU head coach Joi Felton. "We expect them to be very physical, very aggressive, and to have a lot of confidence. It's going to be a physical, tough battle. They crash the boards extremely well, so it's another situation where we have to take care of rebounding and take care of the basketball.
"This will be a good test for us. We're going to see a lot of conference opponents who also rebound very well, so this will make for a good preparation game for us to get ready for the rest of the conference schedule."
Murray State returns to OVC action at home against Tennessee-Martin. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
