Navy Squad Evens 'Breds World Series

In Game 4 of the Murray State Thoroughbreds' World Series, all of the runs were scored in the first inning, but the pitching held, allowing the Navy squad to win 2-1 and force a deciding Game 5, to be played today (Friday) at 3:30 p.m. at MSU's Reagan Field.
Tyler Hall pitched four innings for Navy, picking up the win in the seven-inning game, allowing one run on four hits, striking out two and walking one. Drew Leeper got the save, pitching a scoreless three innings and allowing one hit, striking out two and walking three.
Anthony Stacy took the loss, despite pitching five innings of three-hit baseball, allowing two runs in the first. Stacy also struck out one and walked one before giving way to Matt Phillips in the sixth inning. Phillips allowed no runs on two hits, striking out one and walking two in two innings.
Navy was led by Cory Hodskins, who had a hit, a run and a run batted in. Hits were also collected by Justin Yount, Brooks Thornton, Evan Petit and Bo Akers.
The Gold team was paced by Tyler Owen and Zach Noonan, who each had two hits, accounting for four of the team's five hits.
The World Series is the 'Breds' traditional closing event for their fall practice.
