Rowing Captures Three Medals At Midwest Championships

The second varsity-eight crew finished in a time of 7:28.47, 8.56 seconds behind first place
MSU's second varsity-eight crew included four rowers that had just raced in the varsity 8+ event, three rowers that had just raced in the novice 8+ event and one fresh rower.
Laura Graham (coxswain), Anna Brown, Karen Delaney, Elizabeth Van Lengen, Erin Sargent, Ashley Glennon, Jessica Stamper, Kari Weisenfeld and Hannah Neely made up the medal winning second varsity-eight crew.
MSU second varsity-four crew included Wesly Newmaster (coxswain), Tracy Bogard, Stefanie Kozuszek, Kelly Boyer and Katelyn Campbell.
In the novice 8+ event, the Racers turned in a time of 7:43.37 to grab third place. MSU finished 6.11 seconds in front of fourth place Southern Methodist. The medal is the first this season for the novice team.
MSU's time of 7:08.68 was the best by its varsity-eight crew this season but strong performances by other teams left the Racers in fourth place. SMU claimed first place with a time of 7:00.43. Drake (7:02.10) was second followed by
In other events, MSU placed fifth in the varsity 4+ A event and fifth in the novice 4+ race.
