All For the Kids - MSU Student-Athletes Help MCCFRC

Several Murray State student-athletes volunteered to serve as group leaders at the Summer in the Park program sponsored by the Murray-Calloway County Family Resource Center at the city park.

The Summer in the Park program is designed to bring children together for lunch and fun and having the MSU student-athletes there to participate was an added bonus.

“It's so exciting for the kids to be around the student-athletes at Murray State,” Courtney Fine, of the MCCFRC said. “They look up to them and participating with them means the world to the kids.”

Today's emphasis was on developing healthy eating habits and playing in a group setting.

After lunch the children played games including: basketball, soccer, jump rope, races and throwing and catching footballs and Frisbees.

Student-athletes from MSU included: Gerraca Matthews, Pam Bell, Tyler Holloway, Jarad Key, Charlie Jordan, Vincent Rivers, Jerry Winfield, Damius Robinson, Jen Peios and Tara Isbell.
