MSU Soccer Scores Late, Drops 2-1 Match to JSU

The
Katie Wilson's goal on a pass from Krista Muilkens in the 84th minute cut the JSU lead to 2-1, but the Racers could not get the equalizer in the final six minutes.
The Gamecocks had taken a 2-0 lead with goals in the 17th and 78th minutes.
The Racers had more shots (14-9) and more shots on goal (6-4), but missed out on winning their OVC opener.
The Racers had entered the game with four wins in their previous five matches, but fall to 5-5-0 on the season and 0-1-0 in the OVC.
MSU is creating chances to score and have six players who have taken double digit attempts in the first 10 matches: Lacey Latimer (17) , Katie Wilson (15), Rebekah Clay (13), Krista Muilkens (13), Kellyn Robison (13) and Jen Nowak (12).
Before Friday's match, the Racers were third in the OVC with 14.10 shots taken per game.
