Hayes Earns Fourth OVC Player Of The Week Honor

Ashley Hayes earned her fourth Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honor this season, according to a release issued by the conference office.
Hayes led the league with 21.5 points per game to go with 7.0 rebounds per contest in Murray State's two wins last week, an 83-71 win at Tennessee State on Thursday and a 62-59 win over Eastern Illinois on Saturday.
Against EIU, she had a game-high 23 points and pulled downa co-game-high nine rebounds, going 6-for-6 from the line. At Tennessee State, she had 20 points and five boards. She went 9-for-9 from the line in both games combined, and was 8-for-18 from the field in each game.
Hayes, a junior guard/forward from Humboldt, Tenn., also earned OVC Player of the Week on Dec. 10, Dec. 17 and Dec. 31, over three consecutive voting periods. She now leads the OVC with 18.6 points per game and has a team-high 8.5 rebounds per game, and is shooting 46.3 percent from the field. She ranks third in the OVC in rebounding, first with 6.32 defensive rebounds per game, 10th in field-goal percentage and 14th with 32.16 minutes played per game.
