Brown Earns OVC Newcomer Of The Week Honor

Angela Brown was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week after scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against Samford on Saturday, earning her second double-double of the season. In that game, she helped the Racers' second-half comeback by scoring nine points and taking down eight boards in the latter period.
Brown transferred to Murray State this season after playing three seasons at Old Dominion University. She has earned her bachelor's degree from ODU, and is pursuing a master's degree from Murray State.
For the month of February, Brown is averaging 9.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in Murray State's six games this month. She is shooting 64.9 percent from the field (24-for-37) in February and 9-for-10 (.900) from the line. She is also averaging 1.5 blocked shots per game.
In conference play, she is averaging 7.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 blocked shots per game, shooting 54.7 percent (58-for-107) from the field.
Murray State closes out February play at Tennessee Tech on Thursday. The Racers will end its regular season at home against UT Martin on Saturday.
