Coach Jody Adams (
(On jumping out to a big lead): The way started, we weren't shooting well, but it's like I told our team before we started the game: this game was going to be about our defense and our rebounding. They didn't focus on the missed shots at the start of the game, they focused on digging in defensively and boarding the ball. Then the shots started falling and we were able to jump out to a big lead.
(On holding Samford to 25.9 percent shooting in the first half): We matched up personalities. We did a good job as a coaching staff making some adjustments with the personnel, taking away people's strengths. It didn't work all the time, but for the majority of the time it did.
(On learning from
(On the play of her bench): I'm very confident in our bench. I started hassling them about two months ago because our starters were playing too many minutes, and our bench stepped up and gave our starters a breather. In a tournament, it's important to have great bench play.
Ashley Hayes (
(On making it back to the OVC championship game after a coaching change): It feels good. Even when we didn't have a coach, this was still the goal. They brought us a wonderful coach to help us reach it.
(On winning OVC Player of the Year again): I just worked hard and tried to be the best in the conference. I knew as long as I took care of business on defense and offense, everything else would fall into place.
