Racers Can't Overcome Early Turnovers Against Wolfpack

North Carolina State took advantage of a pair of Murray State turnovers on its first two possessions to jump out to the early lead and never look back en route to a 65-7 victory Saturday evening at Carter-Finley Stadium.

NCSU (1-1) quarterback Russell Wilson took advantage of the short fields that he was given and led the Wolfpack on five scoring drives in the first half, four ended with Wilson TD passes.

The Racers (1-1) offense could find its rhythm in the first half as the Racers mustered minus-two yards of offense in the half.

MSU finally got on the board early in the fourth quarter as they put together a 12-play, 57-yard drive that ended when Nico Yantko found Daniel Ard for a two-yard touchdown pass.

The Racers return to the field Sept. 19 as they travel to take on Missouri State. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at the Plaster Field Complex.
