Katelyn Jones Named OVC Female Runner of the Week

Murray State women's cross country runner Katelyn Jones was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Female Runner of the Week for her performance this past Friday at the Belmont Opener in Nashville, Tenn.

The junior from Rockport, Ind., was the top Racer finisher and placed 15^th out of the field of 85, with a time of 14:55.08 in the 4k run and helped her team to a seventh-place finish.

This is the second time Jones has been honored with this award. She won the award during her sophomore season as well.

Jones and her teammates will have this week off from competition before traveling to Nashville, Tenn. to participate in the Commodore Invite Saturday, Sept. 19. Start times are 9 a.m. for the men and 10 a.m. for the women.
