Jones Earns OVC Honor

Senior Katelyn Jones has been selected Ohio Valley Conference women's cross country co-runner of the week for Sept. 27 - Oct. 3, sharing the honor with Picoty Leitich of Eastern Kentucky.
She finished first at the Tennessee Tech Invite on Oct. 1, completing the 5k course at Southern Hills Golf Course in 19:21, 36 seconds ahead of the next finisher. She was one of five Racers to place in the top 10 as MSU also finished first overall for its first team title since the Evansville Invitational in 2009.
It was Jones' first 1st-place finish after recording second place finishes at the Saluki Invitational in 2008, Evansville Invitational in 2009 and at the SIU Early Bird to open the 2010 season.
Cross country returns to action next week, competing Oct. 16 at the Evansville Invitational.
