Racer Golf Has Strong Fall Finish At Pat Bradley Invitational

Pat Bradley Invitational Final Results
The Murray State women's golf squad wrapped up the fall portion of their 2010-11 season with a 12th place showing at the Pat Bradley Invitational at Pelican Preserve CC in Fort Meyers, Fla.
Playing in a strong field of 15 teams, the Racers fired rounds of 320-303-311=934 to finish ahead of Oakland (940), Drake (974) and Bethune-Cookman (997). MSU finished just behind 11th place Troy (929).
Freshman Alex Lennartsson led the way for MSU with a 33rd place finish in the field of 81 players with scores of 81-74-75=230, while Caroline Lagerborg placed 49th with rounds of 79-76-79=234. Delaney Howson carded scores of 76-84-75=235, with Alli Weaver placing 65th with scores of 84-77-82=242, Morgan Cross came home in 72nd place with rounds of 85-76-83=244.
North Texas won the event with at 876, with Daytona College (877), Western Michigan (887), Maryland (890) and Florida International (895) rounding out the top-5. Stetson (898), Cincinnati (901), Florida Gulf Coast (911), South Alabama (921) and Florida Atlantic (922) made up the top-10.
The event, hosted by Florida International University is named in honor of FIU alum and LPGA Hall of Famer, Pat Bradley.
The course used for the tournament at Pelican Preserve CC was a combination of nine holes from the Heron and Egret courses and played to a par of 72 at 6,241 yards.
The event marks the end of the fall portion of the 2010-11 season for the Racers. MSU had a successful fall season in which they won the APSU Intercollegiate (Oct. 19), had a second place finish (Oct. 12) at the ASU Lady Red Wolf Invitational and a third place finish (Sep. 14) at the Drake Creek-MSU Invitational.
MSU's first event of the spring is the NewWave Communications MSU Spring Invitational (Feb. 28-Mar. 1) at Miller Memorial GC in Murray, Ky.
In the first five events of 2011, the Racers will be building toward their attempt at a third straight Ohio Valley Conference Championship (April 21-23) at Greystone GC in Dixon, Tenn.
