The Murray State baseball team plays host to Western Kentucky University in their final midweek game before the start of conference play. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Reagan Field.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Breds and Hilltoppers are meeting for the 125th time on the diamond. The former OVC rivlas first met in 1932, but have not played since 2004. MSU leads the all-time series 64-60-1, after defeating WKU 13-11 on March 24, 2004 in Murray.
Breds Host Ranked Oponent
WKU enters Wednesday's game ranked No. 22 in the latest rankings released by Baseball America on Monday. It marks the first time in recent memory that a ranked opponent has played a game at Reagan Field.
Streak Reaches 17
The Breds have scored at least one run in 17-straight innings, dating back to the fourth inning of the series opener against Mid-Continent. MSU scored multiple runs in 13 of those 17 innings.
Cunningham Named Hitter of Week
After going 14-for-21 (.667) with two doubles, four home runs, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored in leading the Breds to a 5-0 week, Wes Cunningham was named the Ohio Valley Conference Hitter of the Week for the week of March 21.
Duo Drive in Eight Each
A pair of Breds had career days in the series finale against Mid-Continent as Cory Hodskins and Bryan Propst each drove in eight runs in the 25-15 victory.
Breds Score 20
Murray State scored 20 runs for the first time this season with its 25-15 victory over Mid-Continent on Saturday. The Breds surpassed 20 runs twice last season, including scoring 25 runs against SEMO in the series opener.
Breds Defeat Ranked Opponent
Murray State knocked off a nationally ranked opponent for the first time since 2006 when the Breds defeated #20 Kentucky 7-5 Monday evening. The last victory over a ranked opponent came March 8, 2006 when the Breds defeated #19 Ole Miss, 7-6.
Cunningham Climbs Career Charts
Senior first baseman Wes Cunningham continues to climb the career hitting charts as he has182 hits and needs only three more to climb into the top 10. He also needs seven RBIs to crack the top 10. He currently ranks first on the career batting average list, as well as tied for fourth in triples, seventh in total bases and tied for 10th in home runs.

The Breds open Ohio Valley Conference action as they travel to take on Austin Peay on March 27-28. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. both days.
