Racers Fall to UT Martin in Mid-Week League Game

The Murray State softball team fell 8-0 to UT Martin in a mid-week Ohio Valley Conference game. The Racers moved to 13-23 overall and 5-8 in league action.
Sophomore Megan Glosser and freshman Ellyn Troup each recorded a hit for MSU, while all three pitchers who saw action recorded at least one strike out. Freshman Starr Gilley started the game for the Racers and tallied two strike outs, while sophomore Chelsey Sullivan also added two and freshman Shelby Kosmecki struck out one batter.
The Skyhawks (32-7, 11-3 OVC) had a six-run second inning to take the lead for good and then added two runs in the final inning to take the 8-0 decision.
The Racers remain at Racer Field for a weekend OVC series against Southeast Missouri State. A double header is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 17 and a single game is set for 1 p.m., Sunday, April 18.
