The 5'10” guard played varsity girls basketball at Christian Academy for five seasons, starting for three seasons and earning the co-captain honor her junior and senior seasons. Her junior year, she helped lead the team to the 7th Region title and a trip to the Kentucky State tournament.
Karst was rated as one of the Top-10 players in the State of Kentucky by Jim Underwood and the prestigious Blue Chip High Exposure Basketball.
"We are extremely excited about the addition of Allison to the Racer Family,” said Cross. “She is a versatile athlete who can play any of the guard positions. Allison's ability to make shots with deep range and get to the rim and create for herself or others makes her a difficult person to defend. Her athleticism, length and toughness will also give her the ability to be an outstanding defender in our system.”
Karst earned 7th Region second team honors as a junior and was a first team all-region selection her senior campaign. Her senior season also saw her named to the Louisville Invitational Tournament All-Tournament team and the Junior Orange Bowl All-Tournament team.
She was selected to play for the Kentucky All Star team against the Ohio All Stars during the 2009-10 season and was recently by honored by the KHSAA with the 7th Region Female Student-Athlete Sportsmanship Award.
Karst was named the CAL Most Outstanding Offensive Player for 2010, along with MVP and the Women's Basketball Scholar/Athlete after leading the team in scoring. She is a four-time Academic All-State Basketball Player and topped the 1,000 point mark in her career this past season. She has a 4.0 GPA and is an officer for the National Honor Society.
“Her work ethic is tremendous and is not only evident on the court but in the classroom as well. Allison is a great example of what we are looking for in a student-athlete."
