Lane Finalizes First NFL Contract

Former Murray State defensive end Austen Lane took one step closer to fulfilling his dream of playing the in the NFL as the two-time All-American finalized the terms on a four-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars Wednesday afternoon. Terms of the deal were not released.
“It feels good to have my contract signed and done with,” said Lane. “I am very blessed for the opportunity Jacksonville has given me. With this out of the way, I can just focus on football and getting my mind right for training camp.”
Lane (Iola, Wisc.) became the highest drafted player in MSU history when the Jaguars selected the 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year in the fifth round (153rd overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. He left his mark as a Racer as he set the school's single-season (12.0) and career (29.0) sack records, as well as the single-season (22.0) and career (53.5) marks for tackles-for-loss.
