The Murray State football team conducted its final two-a-day practices Friday as the Racers went through a morning and afternoon session on the turf at Stewart Stadium.
“I really thought we had great intensity and enthusiasm today,” said head coach Chris Hatcher. “It was a little cool this morning, compared to what it has been. It was hotter this afternoon, but I thought we got what we needed out of it, which was some good work against each other. We really focused on the fundamentals towards the latter parts of practice. Sometimes you get this far in camp, you get a little tired, and you don't use the proper technique. But, all in all, I thought we had a pretty good day.”
The Racers conti nued to work special teams into every practice as they try to find top unit for each team. Preseason All-OVC kicker Kienan Cullen continued getting ready for the season as he connected on a 47-yard field goal in both the morning and afternoon practices.
The Racers will break camp tomorrow morning as they will hold a scrimmage inside Stewart Stadium at 10 a.m. The scrimmage is open to the public and admission is free.
The football team will also be hosting Meet The Racers Day Aug. 21 at Stewart Stadium. The event will begin with a Little Racers Camp at 9:45 a.m., and will be followed by an autograph session with the 2010 players and coaches at 11 a.m.
