Soccer Opens Home Schedule With Racer Classic

The Murray State women's soccer team returns home looking for its first win of the 2010 season as hosts of this weekend's Racer Classic at Cutchin Field.
The Racers posted a pair of identical 0-0 results on the road at Bellarmine and Saint Louis, outshooting their opponents 23-18 with a 15-8 shots-on-goal advantage.
Senior Tara Isbell picked up OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honors with eight saves and 0.00 goals against average.
MSU welcomes Alabama A&M, Southeast Missouri and USF to this season's Racer Classic.
Alabama A&M comes into this weekend looking for its first win of the season having dropped a pair of road contests at Miami (Ohio) and Kennesaw by a combined score of 21-0.
Freshman Signe' Novak scored with two minutes remaining in the second overtime period for Southeast Missouri as the Redhawks won their season opener 2-1 against Belmont. Stephanie Palmer tied the match at 1-1 halfway through the second period.
USF were winners in its lone match of the season, knocking off North Florida 4-0 as four different players scored for the Bulls in the dominant victory. USF out-shot the visiting Ospreys 21-3.

The championship of the Racer Classic will be decided by the following points system.
3 points Win
1-point Tie
1-point Goal scored (Max of three per match)
1-point Shutout
There is a maximum of seven points per match a team can earn if they win the match, score at least three goals and post a shutout.
