Racers Net Pair In 4-2 Loss At OSU

Sophie Hargreaves and Kalli McCoy tallied second half goals as the Murray State women's soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision to 18th-ranked Oklahoma State Sunday afternoon in Stillwater, Okla.
Trailing 4-0 in the second half, Hargreaves put the Racers on the scoreboard in the 80th minute, scoring off of a free kick that deflected into the OSU goal.
McCoy added to the MSU total seven minutes later, scoring her second goal of the season on an assist from Danielle McMurray in the 87th minute.
The Racers trailed 3-0 at halftime after allowing two goals and an own goal as they played into challenging wind conditions for the opening 45 minutes.
“I was pleased that we were able to score twice after fighting hard all game,” head coach Beth Acreman said. “It's always good to be able to score on teams that are nationally ranked.
Murray State returns home to Cutchin Field on Sept. 10 to take on IPFW at 3:00 p.m.
