Murray State (4-3, 2-2 OVC) vs. Eastern Kentucky (4-3, 3-1 OVC)
Oct. 29 - 1 p.m.
Stewart Stadium - Murray, Ky.
STORY LINES
Saturday's game will feature a tale of two different styles of play as Murray State will bring the OVC's top passing offense into the game, while Eastern Kentucky will counter with the league's top rushing offense.
Junior quarterback Casey Brockman had a special day in his last outing against Eastern Illinois as he became just the sixth Racer to pass for 5,000 yards in a career, moving into fifth place on the all-time list. Also, in a ceremony before the game, Brockman was selected as the 2011 Homecoming King.
Senior running back Mike Harris has rushed for over 100 yards in four of the six games this season. His eight rushing touchdowns are tied for the conference lead. Harris is currently ranked eighth on the MSU all-time list with eight 100-yard rushing games.
The Racers special teams have been just that this season as MSU ranks fifth in the FCS with five blocked kicks. The MSU record for blocked kicks in a season is nine, set in 1979. Also, the Racers rank 10th in the FCS in punt returns, averaging 14.48 yards per return.
The Game
The Racers return from their bye week to host Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 29. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at 'The Track.'
vs. Eastern Kentucky
The Racers are just 25-41-4 all-time against the Colonels. EKU has won five straight in the series, and eight of the last nine. The only Racer victory in that stretch was a 19-16 overtime victory in 2004. MSU has not beaten the Colonels at Stewart Stadium since 1999, a span of six games.
After a Bye
The Racers have won just once in the past five years when coming off a bye. That lone win came last season when MSU came off a bye to defeat Eastern Illinois, 38-28.
Brockman Crowned King
Quarterback Casey Brockman literally was the king on Saturday in the victory over Eastern Illinois. Not only did Brockman lead the Racers to victory, he was also honored as the 2011 Homecoming King. He becomes the second Racer football palyer to be crowned, joining his older brother, Tyler, who was honored in 2009.
Beauford Catches Game Winner
Hannibal Beauford went 16 games without catching a touchdown pass before he caught one against Georgia State. Against Eastern Illinois, Beauford caught the game-winning 16-yard touchdown with 1:28 remaining to complete the comeback. He finished the game with three catches for 32 yards.
Cullen Sets FG Record
Senior Kienan Cullen became the school's all-time leader when he kicked his 50th career field goal against Eastern Illinois. The field goal broke the tie with Paul Hickert. Cullen is now tied for second on the OVC all-time list and needs two field goals to tie the record.

He became the ninth Racers to score four times when he scored on runs of one, 22, two and 24 yards. His 24-yard TD with less than a second to play was on fourth down and sealed the victory.
Harris vs. EIU
Eastern Illinois will be seeing Mike Harris in their nightmares. In two games against the Panthers, Harris rushed for 292 yards and seven touchdowns.
Homecoming Comebacks
The Racers are making a habit of double-digit comebacks on Homecoming. One year after the Racers overcame a 52-38 deficit in the third quarter, MSU rallied from 27-17 down for a 36-27 victory over Eastern Illinois. MSU started the comeback with a 17-play 80-yard drive following a missed field goal.
Robinson Forces Big Fumble
Defensive end Kevin Robinson made the biggest play of the game when he forced a fumble on a sack and recovered it with just over a minute left in the game and the Racers up three. It was the first offensive play for the Panthers after MSU took the lead and it secured the victory.
Block Party
The Racers have blocked five kicks in 2011. MSU has blocked three punts, one field goal and one extra point. Brandon Wicks leads the way with two blocked punts. Portland State leads the FCS with seven blocks, while North Dakota, Dartmouth and Drake each have six. The school record for blocks in a season is nine, set in 1979.
