Brockman Earns adidas OVC Co-Offensive Player of the Week Honor

Murray State junior quarterback Casey Brockman scored a touchdown three different ways in the victory over Southeast Missouri on Saturday. For his efforts, Brockman was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Sunday.
Brockman (Murray, Ky.) completed the trifecta in the first half as he ran for a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Robertson, and caught a 10-yard pass from Ricky Mitchell. It was the second receiving touchdown of the season for Brockman, and the third of his career.
Brockman finished the game 31-for-44 for 222 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries to go along with his 10 receiving yards. It also marked the second time in his career that he has rushed and caught a touchdown in the same game, after doing against UT Martin in 2010.
The 2011 season was a record-setting one for Brockman as he finished 316-for-477 for 3,276 yards and 25 touchdowns. He set new MSU and OVC records for attempts and completions, while throwing for the second-most yards in OVC history. His 25 touchdown passes also rank second on the MSU single-season list.
