Burgess Earns Second-Straight OVC Newcomer of the Week Honor

Murray State women's basketball red-shirt sophomore Erica Burgess was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for the second consecutive week, Nov. 22.
The Memphis, Tenn., led the team with 18.0 points per game last week. She tallied a career-best six steals and nine field goals against Ball State. Burgess also added five steals against Mid-Continent and shot 42.5 percent from the floor over the two games.
The Racers play tonight at 6 p.m. against Alabama A&M in the T. M. Elmore Gym in Huntsville, Ala.
