Burgess Named adidas OVC Newcomer of the Week

Red-shirt sophomore Erica Burgess has been named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for December 20, marking the third time this season, after her performance in the first game of the Magnolia Classic in Oxford, Miss.
The Memphis, Tenn., native led the Racers with 19 points, while also bringing down a season-best six rebounds in the loss to Ole Miss. She dished out five assists and tallied five assists in the contest.
MSU will return to the floor tonight to finish its games at the Magnolia Classic, with a 5 p.m. tip-off against Cleveland State at the Tad Smith Coliseum.
