Burgess Named OVC Newcomer Of The Week - Fourth Time

For the second-straight week and the fourth time this season, red-shirt sophomore Erica Burgess has been named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, for Dec. 27.
The Memphis, Tenn., native led the Racers in both games of the Magnolia Classic hosted by Mississippi, Dec. 19-20. She earned her last player of the week honor for her performance against Mississippi and then added this week's honor for her statistics against Cleveland State.
The guard tallied 19 points and six rebounds, while adding five assists and five steals against the Vikings.
The Racers will return to action, Saturday, Dec. 31 with their first OVC game of the season. MSU will travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for a 1 p.m. tip-off with Southeast Missouri State and will then travel on to face Eastern Illinois, Jan. 2, in Charleston, Ill.
