Stewart Named Offensive Coordinator

Hatcher announces changes to 2011 staff
Murray State wide receivers coach Mitch Stewart has been promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, head coach Chris Hatcher announced Thursday. In addition, Hatcher has announced three other changes within his staff.
Defensive line coach Kenny Parker has added the duties of Football Strength and Conditioning Coach, as well as Director of Player Development. Mike Polly has been promoted to offensive tackles/tight ends coach, as well as special teams coordinator. Sean Dawkins has also been promoted to running backs coach/running game coordinator.
Stewart has been with Hatcher since he became a quarterback at Valdosta State in 2001. After finishing his playing career, Stewart joined the VSU coaching staff as a graduate assistant, before following Hatcher to Georgia Southern and MSU.
Parker enters his second year on Hatcher's staff at MSU. Prior to his time with the Racers, Parker was a three-year letterwinner at Florida, before joining the coaching staff as an assistant defensive line coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Polly joined Hatcher's staff last season after spending the previous three seasons as a graduate assistant at Middle Tennessee. Dawkins also joined Hatcher's original staff at MSU, after previously serving as the running backs coach at West Texas A&M.
The Racers are coming off their first winning season since 2004, finishing the year with a 6-5 record overall and a 5-3 mark in Ohio Valley Conference action.
