The sixth annual Racer Club Head Coaches Dinner was held at the Murray Room of the CFSB Center, Thursday, April 28, 2011.
The event is one of the unique events each school year that gives donors an inside look at the various teams of the Murray State Racers.
“The dinner is an annual opportunity for us to say thank you to those donors who contribute to the 900 dollar level and above in the Racer Club, which is the Stallion level and above,” MSU Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs Paul Bubb said. “The donors get a different insight into our programs, those things that are special about our coaches and the student-athletes that compete for the Racers.”
“At this dinner you'll hear some things that you didn't know about our head coaches and their teams,” said Bubb, who also serves as master of ceremonies for the event. “We have a lot of fun, we throw some funny questions at the coaches and catch them a little off guard, so it's a great night.”
Another aspect to the MSU Head Coaches Dinner is that all of them are together in the same place at the same time which isn't easy to do.
“People tend to think it's an athletics department and they're together all the time,” Bubb added. “However, we're spread out because of the seasons and the facilities, so this is an event our coaches look forward to so they can catch up with each other and our boosters.”
The evening included dinner in a relaxed and casual setting in the Murray Room of the CFSB Center followed by interviews with all of the coaches.
