Gift will support departmental strategic initiatives, capital projects, and revenue share
Murray State Athletics has received a transformational investment of $2,000,000 from a generous family of Racer supporters, it was announced on Monday.
The gift counts towards the Leading The Pack campaign and will support numerous strategic initiatives, capital progress and revenue share throughout the department.
"I want to express my gratitude to this incredibly special family for their transformational investment into our bright future," Murray State University President Dr. Ron Patterson said. "We are continuing to lead the pack in everything that we do, something that would not be possible without the support of our generous donors and the support of all of Racer Nation."
"We are thankful for this incredible family for stepping up and helping us transform our athletics department and community," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "Our investors continue to set the tone for our success as we march towards the $100 million goal of the Leading The Pack campaign and prioritize our race towards excellence."
Over the last two years, Murray State has raised a school-record $40 million dollars in support of new facilities, initiatives and championship resources. That total was made possible by 14, seven-figure gifts, which also amounts to the most in department history.
The $40 million is committed towards the department's bold, comprehensive $100 million fundraising campaign, Leading The Pack, which was created to further position itself for the future by investing in student-athlete success and wellness, revenue share and competitive resources and world-class facilities.
