Racers Returned to Practice Tuesday Afternoon

Team works on making corrections from Saturday's scrimmage

The Murray State football team returned the practice field Tuesday afternoon as they went through their ninth practice of the Spring on the turf at Stewart Stadium. It was the first practice since conducting a scrimmage Saturday morning.
“We had good work today. We were really sore yesterday after the 122-play scrimmage on Saturday,” said head coach Chris Hatcher. “The guys came out and bounced around good. We are continuing to install different things and experimenting a little bit, but I was pleased with the tempo. We have some guys who didn't play quite as well as they had hoped feeling a little sorry for themselves, but the goal this week is to improve from that scrimmage as we lead up to Saturday.”
The third week of practice mirrored the first two weeks as the Racers continued to work on the fundamentals, as well as correct the mistakes that were made during the scrimmage.
Both sides of the ball made plays during bandit. The first-team offense was able to get in the endzone as Casey Brockman found Hannibal Beauford on a long pass. The defense got into the act with Tim Adkisson intercepting a pass.
The Racers return to the practice field Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The team will also practice Friday afternoon, before conducting another scrimmage Saturday morning.
